3 must have shirts

Being a mom I know it’s often hard to get out and shop. This is why shopping on Amazon has become one of my favorite things! You place your order, it gets delivered very quickly and if you don’t love it you just drop it off at Kohls and they do all the returning work for you. Easy Peasy!

Personally I LOVE  seeing what people have bought and loved so I think it would be fun to share some of my favorites with you all. Here are the 3 shirts I can not live without.

The everyday shirt

This adorable waffle tie front top is the perfect everyday shirt. It looks good with jean or leggings. It also comes in several color options. I did size up because I wanted it to have a looser fit so it could be worn with leggings.

The date night shirt

This off the shoulder shirt is perfect for date night with the sexy off the shoulder detail. I was pleasantly surprised with how thick the material is. It fits tighter through your hips so it’s very flattering. Fits true to side but you could size down for a tighter fit. 

The perfect layering shirt

Last up on my must have list is this thermal top. This piece is super versatile, it is a great layering piece but could also be worn on it’s own. The material is much thicker than expected and I was pleasantly surprised. I got it in grey and would say it runs true to size, maybe even a little big. I suggest sizing down if you like a tighter fit.

This is the #1 thing all new moms need. Being a mom of 2 and having a job where I work with newborns and moms every single day I have learned some tricks of the trade. I have seen every gadget and gizmo around. Some are AMAZING, they are those products that you go “man why didn’t I think of that” its pure genius and I plan to blog about those in future posts. But, today I wanted to focus on the one product that I believe every new mom needs and guess what? I costs less than $10! If you do not have this you need it, if you know someone who has a new baby or is expecting do them a favor and buy this for them, they will love you for it. I have been using this little slice of heaven for every single one of my newborn sessions for the past 6 years. I run it from anywhere between 2-4 hours several days a week and it is still going strong. The battery life is also great, I change the batteries 1-2 times per year. It has the option of 4 different sounds, you can adjust the volume and you can also set the timer for how long you would like it to run, 15, 30 or 45 minutes. Best of all  it’s small and portable, you can clip it onto a car seat and then easily take it off and put it in the baby’s crib. Most parents ask me about it at their session and MANY of them have jumped right on Amazon and purchased it before they even left.

I have to admit, I freaking LOVE Amazon! I am in that generation like most of you where we have really grown up seeing amazing technological advances and I think Amazon Prime is something that honestly has changed the way people shop. I think to myself “I need (fill in the blank)” I  jump on Amazon, order it and BAM in 2 days it’s on my porch. It’s unbelievable!

So I decided to post a couple of the adorable Valentine’s Day gifts I found on Amazon in case you are like me and just realized how quickly this adorable holiday creeped up on us.

First up are these adorable little books. I love thoughtful gifts, and these books come in different themes such as “what I love about mom” “what I love about us” etc

When I saw these socks I knew they would make the perfect gift for my 3. My husband, son and daughter are obsessed with this game…I personally don’t get it but they think it’s hilarious so I thought these socks would make a great gift.

Next up… we are huge fan of The Office in our house so the moment I saw this game I knew it would be perfect. Obviously not appropriate for kids but would make a fun game to play with your adult friends.

If you don’t own one of these adorable little cameras yet you are missing out. I loved polaroid cameras the first time around and I am a fan of these new ones (although if I am being totally honest I wish the photos were bigger.) Do yourself a favor and invest in one, they are great to have around.

Lastly I thought this book just looked the sweetest, I know it is targeted towards little kids but I think it could be good for big kids too, I know my kids will always be my pookies no matter how big they are.

Hello! If you are here that means that you actually want to know a little bit more about me and let me tell you that means a lot to me. After being in business for 6 years I had an “ah ha moment” (is that how you spell it?) Well you know it’s the thing Oprah talks about all the time…I had one of those. What I realized in this Oprah moment is that although this is my business website and I’m sure you are here to look at photos you may want to get to know a little bit more about me than what is on my “About me” page. So, I decided to start blogging on a personal level. I plan to share things about me, my family, things I love besides photography so that when you happen to land on my page you will feel like we are friends.

To end this first personal blog post of mine I am going to leave you all with a little gem. My whole family lovingly refers to this photo as “that time I was in the blind melon video” If you don’t know what I’m talking about please head here
